Chief Science Officers are students grades 6-12 who are elected by their peers to be STEM Ambassadors for their school site. Mesa Public Schools is part of the International CSO Program and we are proud to say that we have more Chief Science Officers of any school district in the world! These talented students serve as the STEM Ambassador for their school by making STEM visible on campus, increasing student interest in STEM academics and spotlighting STEM career connections.

STEAM Afterschool Clubs

Hughes Elementary offers a variety of clubs designed to interest students in science, technology, art, and mathematics. Engaging STEAM activities and projects allow us to instill a growth mindset for our students. Students can thrive as creative thinkers and innovators as they collaborate with one another.
